February 27, 2015- All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy… if you’re feeling stuck in the winter doldrums, you’re not alone! Check out a few of the ways in which Hartford is shaking off the winter blues. 

Fun: Winter Spirit Week (February 9-13) featured daily advisory-organized competitions where students stretched their minds and bodies in myriad activities, from musical chairs to trivia, volleyball to pictionary. The highlight of the week may have been during Friday’s culminating pep rally, when teachers entertained students with an original skit.

Fine Arts:
Congrats to the following Hartford High student-artists, whose artworks are featured in Ava Gallery’s 7th Annual Best of the Upper Valley High School Exhibition! Alex Cooper received an AVA Award for her sculpture: Caitlyn Allen, Alex Cooper, Wyatt Connor, Sadie Dyke, Jennica Jade, Livy Mandatta, Odin Mattern, Shannon McHugh, Adam Potter, Ben Shatney

Theatre: The HHS One Act, (un)Masked has concluded its regular season performances. Hartford plays the lead role on Saturday, hosting the Regional One Act Festival this Saturday, February 28.  

Winter Sports have concluded and spring athletes are eager for their season to begin! Congratulations to Indoor Track Shot Put State Champion, Tayler Larmie, who set a new Division II State Record with his 43’ 4.5” toss!

Boys BBall: Ranked #12 in Div 2, 6-14 Regular Season, 0-1 in Playoffs

Girls BBall: Ranked #15 in Div 2, 3-17 Regular Season, 0-1 in Playoffs

Boys Hockey: Ranked #11 in Div 2, 6-13-1 Regular Season, 0-1 in Playoffs

Girls Hockey: Ranked #6  in Div 2, 9-10-1 Regular Season, 0-1 in Playoffs

Indoor Track: Boys Finished #12, Girls Finished #9; State Champion, Tayler Larmie, Boys Shot Put

Bowling: Ranked #3 in state: Championship to be held on March 7
