To address the needs and concerns about the current condition of the Wilder School Building on Norwich Avenue. The building is currently used for the Hartford Regional Alternative Program for students with emotional and behavioral needs that exceed the regular school setting. The students are in grades K-12 and come from the towns of Hartford, and surrounding school districts including but not limited to Lebanon, Dresden, Windsor Southeast, Mascoma, Windsor Central, Rivendell and Two Rivers.
The committee should consist of 7 voting members at least one of which is a Hartford School Board member, at least 3 of which will be members of the public that have professional design acquisition experience, 1 of which will be a collaborative board member, and one of which will be a staff member from one of the programs and the superintendent. The committee will be immediately charged with working on the Wilder School Study Committee and shall by June 30, 2018:

  1. 1. Review the existing needs of the Regional Alternative Program and the Hartford Autism Regional Program and all materials in support of the earlier bond/renovation efforts.

  3. 3. Create design acquisition process for the Wilder School and present it to the board for consideration and ratification.
  4. 4. Prepare and organize materials for presentation to the public, including conceptual sketches and budgeting.
  5. 5. Develop and articulate the argument for a bond to finance the renovation of the Wilder School.
