Why Hartford?

The town of Hartford is nestled in the beautiful upper river valley area on the border of Vermont and New Hampshire.  Located at the crossroads between the Connecticut River and the White River, the town has been instrumental in the development of the greater Upper Valley area.  Hartford is vibrant, diverse, and in the middle of an economic boom. Revitalization activities over the past few years have brought a wide range of culture and opportunity to the area.

The town of Hartford spans five distinct communities, which are all served by the Hartford School District.  The villages of Wilder, White River Junction, West Hartford, Hartford, and Quechee each have their own unique identity, but come together to form a strong town community.  The school district has three village elementary schools, a shared middle school, and a shared high school. The district also supports a thriving vocational tech center, a regional autism program, and a regional alternative school for students who need a different educational approach.  We are proud of our community and the work we do here at the Hartford School District. We invite you to explore this website and reach out if you would like additional information or a tour of the school.
